The Murder Capital for Fall Right Into Place
THE MURDER CAPITAL are the second headliners announced for 2023’s Fall Right Into Place. They will play Sunday 17th September at Claregalway Castle, just outside Galway city. Tickets are €36 + booking fee and go on sale this Wednesday 5th July at 10am from fallrightintoplace.ie. This announcement follows the news that Pillow Queens will play Fall Right Into Place on Saturday 16th September.
Presented by record label, music agency and all-round music wrangler Strange Brew, this will be the third year of Fall Right Into Place, a festival that The Irish Times called “a masterclass in smart Irish music curation”.
Dublin post-punks The Murder Capital released their much-anticipated second album Gigi's Recovery on January 20th via Human Season. The John Congleton produced new LP follows the Irish band’s celebrated 2019 debut album, When I Have Fears, which reached a Top 20 chart position in the UK, a #2 position in Ireland, and featured in media end of year lists internationally with The Guardian calling it “an outstanding debut from a great new band who play it like they mean it.” Summer 2022 saw The Murder Capital open for Pearl Jam in Hyde Park, as well as Foals and Bloc Party, and in 2023 they are playing festivals across Europe.
Gigi’s Recovery was released to widespread acclaim. NME crowned it “the first great guitar album of 2023” and complimented the band’s “journey of introspection, self-analysis, discovery and recovery, via an adventure in sound.” The Guardian praised The Murder Capital for how they “combine muscular drama and skeletal grace with a confidence that Radiohead would be proud of.”
Taking place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2023, the Fall Right Into Place line-up is carefully curated to reflect the Strange Brew ethos, honed over 20 years promoting concerts and artists, and features friends, old and new.
Sunday night will see The Murder Capital headline along with many more acts to be announced, over two stages.
There will be a full craft bar from the good people at Galway Bay Brewery, a cocktail bar, wine and cheese bar, oyster stall and tasty food from the Dela food truck and Weirdough Pizza.
Tickets are €36 + booking fee per day and are available from www.fallrightintoplace.ie and www.strangebrew.ie.
There is a return bus service available, going from Galway Cathedral and back to Galway’s West End for a late night music trail in Róisín Dubh, The Blue Note, Massimo, Bierhaus & Salthouse. Get bus tickets here.
